Library Rules

Library Timing: 9:30 am to 4:30 pm

Issuing of Books: 9:45am to 4:00 pm

INSTRUCTIONS

  • All students must make use of the library facility to enrich their academic excellence.
  • Every person who enters the library must wear ID card, and shall sign in the Visitors Register
  • Students should leave their bags and belongings on the racks outside the library.
  • Students will ensure that they do not disturb other students in the Library.
  • Complete silence should be maintained. Group discussions, lectures are not allowed in the library.
  • Students should not bring Walkman or any electronic instruments and eatables inside the library. Using the Cell Phone in the Library is strictly prohibited.
  • Students can issue 2 library books on 2 library borrowers’ cards for a week.
  • Library Cards are not transferable.
  • A student is entitled to borrow a book for home reading for a period of one week and for teaching and non-teaching staff for a period of 15 days.
  • Students failing to return books issued for home reading on or before the due date will be liable to pay a fine of Rs. 1/- per day till such time as the book is returned.
  • Renewal of books will depend on the availability and requirement of the same by others.
  • On loss of library books, user shall replace the same with a brand new copy or pay the amount decided by the library committee.
  • Students should desist from marking library books with pencil or ink or mutilating them. Books found damaged/mutilated must be brought to the notice of librarian at time of issue, failing which the last reader will be held responsible for the same. Students found damaging/mutilating books, periodicals will be required to compensate for the damage. Further, at the discretion of the librarian, such student may not avail of library facilities thereafter.
  • Readers are requested not to disturb the arrangements of books on the shelves.
  • If library card is lost a sum of rupees 30/- fine has to be paid against a issuing of new library card.
  • Reference Books and prescribed text books kept in the library such as Dictionaries, Encyclopaedias, magazines, Atlases and other classified as reference books must be used in the library only during working hours.
  • Reference books are not issued at all.
  • In case of any difficulty, readers can approach the Librarian.
  • The Students are required to maintain silence in the Reading Hall.
  • The library will be open during vacations(unless otherwise announced)
